Challenge

Our client is a privately owned UK multinational chemicals company, headquartered in London, UK. As the top chemicals company in the world as measured by sales revenue, they are known as a world-class producer in their field.

The client required us to carry out an inspection of the existing floor and provide a new floor system design over a void so that a new control room could be built above. With an outstanding reputation for inspection and surveys, we were the obvious choice for a project of this sort.

Solution

T J Hazell has been on the client’s procurement list for a long time and we have a good working relationship with the client’s teams. 

We are also located close by and can work quickly and effectively with other local contractors.

In providing a solution, we:

• Carried out a survey of the existing turbine hall floor (following turbine removal)
• Provided general arrangement and detail drawings for the new flooring and control room support system.

Results

The new floor incorporated several existing features within the design of the new floor structure and connection points.

The project was delivered to budget and on schedule, ticking all the boxes of the project’s objectives.
